Meet Our Soloists for "The Merciful Goodness", October 2–4, 2026

Soprano Jennifer Paulino specializes in 17th and 18th century repertoire, and appears with period ensembles and orchestras nationally.  Recent performances include a concert of cantatas by Conti, Bernier, and J.S. Bach with Grammy-nominated Agave Baroque, and Buxtehude’s Jesu Membra Nostri, Bach’s Magnificat, and Kunau’s Magnificat with renowned Belgian ensemble Vox Luminis at the Berkeley Festival and Exhibition. 

Jennifer regularly appears with Philharmonie Austin and the Redeemer Choir, as well as Cantata Collective (CA), Bach Collegium San Diego, California Bach Society, Santa Cruz Chorale, San Francisco Choral Society, and at the Carmel Bach Festival.  Jennifer has also made solo appearances at Festival Mozaic (San Luis Obispo), the Festival of Contemporary Music in San Francisco, and the Tropical Baroque Festival in Miami, FL.  Internationally, Jennifer has performed at the Organs of Ballarat Festival in Australia, the International Chamber Music Festival in Olsztyn, Poland, and in Odense, Denmark for David Lang’s The Little Match Girl Passion.

Jennifer studied baroque styles with Julianne Baird, Jill Feldman, and Michael Chance, and holds degrees from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Netherlands, and Westminster Choir College. Her voice “has a fine-textured tone, focused and even. Her singing was expressive, her technique fluent” (San Francisco Classical Voice).

Filipino countertenor Kyle Sanchez Tingzon has been praised for his "powerful countertenor" (The Wall Street Journal) and "lovely, plummy voice" (Opera Today). Kyle has appeared as soloist in California Bach Society concerts of the Biber Requiem, Steffani Stabat Mater, and Vivaldi Magnificat, as well as the Bach B Minor Mass, Missa Brevis in G Major, and Cantata No. 4, Christ lag in Todesbanden. Other recent performances include work with San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Philharmonia Baroque Chorale, American Bach Soloists, and his role debuts in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (as Oberon) with Pocket Opera and Handel’s Rinaldo (in the title role) with West Edge Opera.

In 2022, Kyle completed his graduate and postgraduate studies in vocal performance, with a historical performance emphasis, at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying under César Ulloa. While there, he made role debuts in Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto (in the title role) and Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea (as Ottone).

He is the first-prize winner of the Handel Aria Competition, third-prize winner of the Loren L. Zachary Society National Vocal Competition, and a Colorado-Wyoming district winner and Rocky Mountain regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition.

Tenor Corey Head specializes in early music with a special affinity to J.S. Bach. His solo concert performances include The Evangelist in Bach’s St. John Passion, as well as tenor soloist in his Magnificat, Christmas Oratorio, B-Minor Mass, and many of his cantatas. Many other oratorio solo roles include Uriel in Haydn’s Creation, “The Evening” in Telemann’s Die Tageszeiten, and tenor soloist in Orff’s Carmina Burana and Handel’s Messiah.

Corey has appeared with the California Bach Society as tenor soloist in the Biber Requiem, Steffani's Stabat Mater, Bach’s St. John Passion and Saint-Saëns' Oratorio de Noël. Additionally, Corey has performed as soloist with many San Francisco Bay Area groups including Albany Consort, Bay Choral Guild, Chora Nova, Marin Baroque, Marin Oratorio, San Francisco Choral Society, San Francisco Renaissance Voices, San Francisco Symphony, Stanford Choirs and Orchestras, and Viva La Musica. He performs regularly in the chorale of Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale.

To end his 2026–27 Season, Corey will be singing the Britten Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings, with Ensemble Monterey in April, 2027.
